Salamanca Group, the Merchant Banking and Operational Risk business, announces the appointment of Ian Griffiths as its new Divisional Head of Real Estate. Ian leads a four strong team, covering investment, asset management, development and technical services of the Group’s property assets across the UK, mainland Europe and Brazil. He also has overall responsibility for key client relationships, supporting and managing their real estate transaction requirements.
Ian has more than 35 years of experience in the commercial property sector having provided specialist strategic and investment advice on acquisitions and disposals to a wide client base within the property sector. He set up his own practice, Featherstone Griffiths Jerram in 1987 and through a series of mergers and acquisitions became Head of Property Investment at Dunlop Heywood Lorenz responsible for the national investment team where in their final year the team transacted over £1.2bn of deals. In 2007, Ian worked for Skelton Investments Ltd, responsible for asset managing over 600,000 sq ft of commercial property and then moved on to Nexus Property Management Services Ltd in 2010 (until 2013), where he was responsible for sourcing investment and funding opportunities for clients. For the last two years Ian has run his own independent consultancy Pembrey Asset Management Ltd.
Ian has also worked with Salamanca Group for many years, providing advisory services in respect of HC FCM Salamanca Global Property Fund and other special projects.
