The Vision

Funding Affordable Homes is an investment company that enables private investment into a socially responsible, investment grade sector.

The Outcomes

Salamanca Group was pivotal in founding and launching Funding Affordable Homes, a company leveraging a novel private sector model to invest in UK affordable housing. Since its inception in 2015, the company has consistently expanded its portfolio, partnering with housing associations and socially responsible developers. Initial fundraising efforts totalled £44 million, enabling the financing of over 200 affordable homes across three schemes. Over subsequent years, additional funding and partnerships fuelled growth, with investments exceeding £100 million by 2017.

The company’s portfolio now includes projects across the South, Midlands, and beyond, contributing to over 600 homes under construction or occupied by 2017. Projects in Rochdale, the Isle of Wight, and London continue to enhance their impact.

In 2019, Funding Affordable Homes was sold to Edmond de Rothschild REIM (UK) Limited and remains under their stewardship.
