Topping out marks major milestone at Gravity

We are proud to share that a significant construction milestone has been reached at Gravity Smart Campus, with the topping out of the steel structure for Building One of the Agratas battery manufacturing facility.

The ceremony, held on 19 March 2026, marked the completion of a steel frame that spans 525 metres in length, 167 metres in width and reaches 34 metres at its highest point — a structure now visible across the Somerset Levels and a clear signal of the pace of development at the campus.

The first steel went up in June 2025. In the months since, more than 20,000 piles have been driven into the ground and 23,000 tonnes of British-made steel erected to form the skeleton of what will become the UK’s largest battery manufacturing facility.

Work now moves to the next phase: external cladding, roofing and internal fit-out.
